Common questions
What makes a leave application easy to approve?
Exact dates, the kind of leave, and who is covering your work. Most applications are held up for one of those three, not because the leave itself was a problem.
Should I say why?
A line is enough for casual or sick leave. You are not obliged to describe a medical condition, and a manager who needs more detail will ask — do not volunteer what you would rather not have in a file.
How far in advance should I apply?
For planned leave, as early as you can and at least as far ahead as your policy requires. For sick leave the application usually follows the phone call rather than preceding it, and this is the written record of it.
What counts as a handover?
The name of the person covering, and anything time-bound that falls in your absence. Naming somebody who has not agreed is the mistake that turns an approved leave into a problem.
Can I use this for school or college leave?
Yes. Address it to the principal or head of department and pick the student wording — the dates, reason and duration are the same three things either way.
Do I need a medical certificate?
Usually only for sick leave beyond two or three days, depending on your policy. If you have one, say in the letter that it is attached rather than leaving the reader to notice.
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
Two documents a month are free, with no watermark on either plan. Pro removes the monthly limit and adds the signature upload.
Can I save one and reuse it?
Yes. The letter stays in your account — duplicate it and change the dates the next time, which is the whole point of writing the first one properly.
